Mediterranean Greek Yogurt Breakfast
- Wallaby 0% Greek Yogurt
- 1/4 Avocado
- Fresh Basil leaves
- Extra Virgin Italian Olive Oil
- Course Sea Salt & Cracked Black Pepper
- Optional: 1/4 lemon squeezed
WHAT: I tried this last week for a fresh take on a parfait without all extra sugar and sweetness. Sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you dont… sometimes I feel like sweet tart fruit and sometimes I feel like a rich buttery olive oil. This bowl leaves no tastebud unturned, it delivers smooth & creamy texture all around with the combination of the avocado, yogurt and oil, a fresh herbacious scent from the basil and a nice bite from the cracked pepper.
BONUS: Add a squeeze of lemon for some zing! Don’t forget the salt, it highlights every flavor in a dish- why do you think chefs add it to all their recipes?!
WHY: My motto: If the food is pretty, chances are it’s good for you and tastes good. The more colors, the better. Eat clean!
WHEN: Best for breakfast or before bed: make sure you have time to digest the fats as they slow the breakdown of protein. Not suitable for post workout as we are trying to get some protein in our body within 30 minutes.
